His & Hers Projects — Wine Cellar

This project was part of a whole house remodel that was precipitated, in part, by the fact that the homeowner had a growing wine collection with no means for preserving it let alone comfortably enjoying one of his favorite hobbies. The request was for proper storage of 350 bottles of wine in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment along with a comfortable seating area for sipping wine and other adult beverages. Given that cellars tend to be cool, two separate rooms were created to accommodate the dual request of a cellar and a tasting room. Both rooms were treated to faux finished walls creating a Tuscan wine cellar vibe combined with a collection of winecentric accessories. The deeply stained wood cabinetry is reminiscent of the interior of red wine barrels and was combined with a live edge maple countertop, providing storage and a needed serving surface for uncorking wine bottles — Cin Cin!
