Transitional Craftsman Kitchen
Tired of dark kitchen finishes, lack of adequate lighting and storage space, a professional couple saw the light (literally and figuratively speaking) when they embarked on a remodel of their craftsman kitchen. Two side windows were added on either side of the sink counter run and a variety of lighting options including: cable and rail, recessed can lights, puck lights (embedded in the open-shelf cabinet above the sink), and pendant lights were incorporated in the design to ensure there is the right level of light for every task and mood.
The new Dura Supreme cabinets in Linen White and Cambria Quartz countertops in Newport are light and bright. Previously tiered and covered with granite tiles, the kitchen island was moved and enlarged and is now covered by a single-level maple, butcher block top with a built-in microwave/ convection oven under counter on one end.
The chimney-style hood, surrounded by textural wall tiles, provides good ventilation for the propane range below.
The corner fireplace in the dining room was replaced with a taller model, so when you are seated at the table, you can enjoy a view of the dancing flames.
