The Multi-Tasking Space

This room is a multi-tasker — from laundering clothes to flower arranging to gift wrapping to pet feeding station, it does it all. Situated between the kitchen and the garage, it functions as a convenient but concealed area for all things coming and going from the home. Ample space provides storage for laundry baskets and soap, coats and shoes, entertaining paraphernalia including additional sets of dishes, serving platters, etc., an ironing station, "junk" drawers and auxiliary dry goods stock. The maple cabinets, solid surface countertops, laundry sink and coat rack were salvaged and refinished from another house. Creative use of materials such as a former microwave wall cabinet, makes for the essential grab and go location for laundry soap while the retractable drying rack over the sink is a perfect pairing.
