With a claustrophobic floor plan, failing fixtures and monochrome finishes, the homeowners were ready to throw in the towel on their master bathroom. Their request was for a warm and spacious, low maintenance, water conscious, spa like bathroom that embraced a modern style with an “ethnic pop” with room for their art collection. By removing a drop-in tub and a storage closet and replacing them with a free standing bathtub and a half wall with a three drawer base cabinet, the room developed a more spacious feel allowing the user to enjoy the art work from any vantage point as well as the natural light from the east windows while maintaining valuable bathroom cabinetry storage. The variety of bath lighting options ensures that there is a proper light level for all phases of grooming and the tile floor incorporates radiant heat making this bathroom cozy and inviting at any time of day as well as any time of the year.
