NW Contemporary Craftsman Entertainment Center
The Homeowners of this Craftsman home are devoted audiophiles who had constructed a 22" square sub-woofer and a hard drive devoted to the storage of music and movies with no where to put them. Their wish was to maintain the gas fireplace but to also set the plasma screen at an ergonomic height. The answer was to drop the fireplace to the floor and bring it into the house (it was originally constructed as a bump-out on the side of the house) and frame the cabinets and bookcases around it. A place for everything and everything in its place was the net result.
Updated Cabinets: Vertical Grain Fir • Countertop/Hearth: Slate tile
